Tim Ellis (with the aid of Sean Taylor in Sydney) brought
the Fingers to Australia in 2003 and received the following
Festival-feedback:

Melbourne:

"There are some things you just don't expect in this world.
The last of which would be having eight German magicians
astound and inspire you while at the same time making you
laugh so you have to cover your ears and close your eyes,
just to get a breath in.

But it happened - again and again - over two of the most
entertaining and informative days I have experienced in my
Magic life to date. The Flicking Fingers are arguably the finest
troupe of magicians to ever grace our shores, and a great bunch
of guys, besides.

They were unbelievably open with their skills and knowledge, and
were up to answering challenging questions from the most experienced
amongst us, while still making the new-comers feel comfortable asking
about fundamentals. I overheard a group of professional magicians
chuckling to themselves at the end of only the first day over the
'value for money' that those who didn't partake in the weekend
missed out on - and I agreed, wholeheartedly.

The Flicking Fingers Lecture itself was of a standard and form that
you would just not believe unless you saw it. The creativity involved
in both the effects themselves and their revelations is a must to see
for anyone who feels they have seen all that there is to see in magic.

Do yourself a favour and pick up their DVD (cleverly titled 'the movie')
or their book (titled - you guessed it - 'the book') it is worth every
cent. Better yet, get to see them, any way you can."

"I think we really pushed the idea of what a fantastic weekend it
was. In fact, each of us came away from the weekend much richer
for the experience. I would like to add my personal thanks for
organizing such a great convention. The FF are a truly amazing
group, their presentations are magnificent and their easy manner
hides a depth of magical knowledge and prowess.
They were a great inspiration."

SYDNEY:

"Weekend: One of the most successful and satisfying magic events
I've been to in the last 25 years. It was like a convention (without being interrupted by competitions) with so many talented performers
from The Flicking Fingers at one time.

The Fingers established their credentials quickly and their love of magic, humor and theatre/performing became apparent. They did not perform just tricks but made performance pieces around the magic - including the marvellous explanations.

The Flicking Fingers who were all very personable, friendly and very willing to talk. Some of the highlights for myself include: The introduction of the team performing their FISM act/lectures, Helge Thun's MC work, Pit Hartlings card work , the explanations (performed as mini-acts in their own right) especially Pit performing for a card trick to drunks in a pub (this brought back memories having experienced the exact conditions when I lived in country towns for 12 years), Thomas Fraps' Cognitive Orange Juice, Ben Profane's juggling, the public show (the encore was brilliant - extremely entertaining, hugely funny, refreshed the audiences' memory of each performer and a kicker of a trick.

The DVD - Australia had the privilege of premiering the Fingers new DVD, "The Movie". Three and one half hours of magic, learning and comedy. I can really say one thing - GET IT! The production values are excellent."

"My wife is now a discerning magic spectator, she has seen the best of the best from a laymans point of view. Generally she cringes when i suggest a show.

However she rated Mac King the best show she had seen, now poor Mac is in second place. She loved the Finger's contemporary style and humour.
What more can be said?"

-- Robert Todd

"This DVD is like a "road movie of adventure". The comedy is genuinely funny and laugh out loud stuff. About 20 tricks are taught in the Fingers unique manner ranging from card, coins, cups and balls, rising cards, orange juice. Perfomance only pieces from their FISM acts, introductions from famous magicians (look for David Williamson), in-house jokes for magicians and many other bonus features. Two of my kids (14 and 16 year olds) watched the performance
segments 3 times in 2 days.

Did I say GET IT?"
